Overview

This program is comprised of three courses taken in sequence.  Students are provided with technical instruction and project-based experience in residential and commercial heating, ventilation and air-conditioning.  Students will receive hands-on instruction and practical experience. Program topics include: resource management, OSHA 10, trade mathematics, and employability skills. It emphasizes techniques, tools, and materials required for a career in HVAC.

Course Details:
This is the first course in a sequence of three courses.  Students are provided with technical instruction and practical experience in basic residential and commercial construction using sustainable and green technology.  Students will receive hands-on instruction and practical experience. Program topics include: resource management, OSHA 10, trade mathematics, and employability skills. It emphasizes techniques techniques, tools, and materials required for concrete work, masonry, floor and wall construction, and roof construction.

Course Details:
The second course of a three-series cosmetology training program conducted under the rules and regulations issued by the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology (CSBBC). This intermediate-level, competency-based course develops the skills needed to take and pass the California licensing examination. Instruction includes State regulations, basic chemistry, health and safety, hazardous substances, electricity, bacteriology, infection control, sanitation, anatomy and physiology. It emphasizes techniques used in the care and beautification of hair, skin, and nails.

Course Details:
The third and final course of a three-series This competency-based course is the third in a sequence of three designed for construction work. It provides students with technical instruction and practical experience in basic residential, commercial and earthquake retrofitting in construction using sustainable and green technology. Instruction includes an introduction, workplace safety, and reviews of resource management, trade mathematics, employability skills, and apprenticeship preparation. Emphasis is placed on the techniques, tools and materials required for finish carpentry, plumbing review and electrical work, roofing, and painting. 

NOTES:

  • Separate costs for books, exams, supplies, preparation, certifications and/or licenses provided by outside vendors may be incured.
  • Once a Certificate of Completion is earned in a course, that course cannot be repeated.
